Can it be concluded from the legacy of the Tarot that the information was laid down in the Age of Sagittarius (the arrow to the future) prior to the dramatic change of the Age of Scorpio after which a balance would be restored and a new beginning lead to another ‘golden’ Age of Leo? And did these sages know it would only be with the returning Age of Aquarius that mankind would finally begin to understand their wisdom once more?
Mapping time
The Tarot is a map to time through which we may find advice and guidance for our own lives and for the future of the planet. It shares its origin with all religions but perhaps because it has been neglected, in many places banned, even denigrated in the past 2000 years or so, it remains uncontaminated by vested interests and schisms.
The Map of the Tarot (© 1994, 1999, 2000 K Carington Smith) is no more and no less than an aid to further study. Yet it may well prove to be a milestone in public understanding and acceptance of the message left by our remote ancestors who wished to safeguard the future of humankind.
Their astonishingly detailed and accurate knowledge of this Solar system, Nature, evolution and , indeed, the Univers, may give rise to further speculation. The triple sun of alchemical symbolism, one of the trio portrayed as dark, could lend credence to theories of origins lying in another star system such as Sirius. It is only in recent years that astronomers have discovered the triune nature of the Dog Star, one of the three being a dark star, were the ancients already aware of this?
There are some facts concerning which we may never be certain. But an honest look into our past demonstrates quite clearly that nothing in this World is truly new.
