Two suggested methods for laying out the cards for divination purposes.
The Horoscope Method (uses Zodiacal Houses)
First the cards must be shuffled by the querent and cut ready for dealing.
Beginning at House 1 (The Emperor on the outer circle of The Map corresponds to the first House and for adequate space to accommodate the cards you should deal to this outer ring) deal one card in sequence counter-clockwise to each House and a thirteenth to the centre of the Map. Return to House 1 and repeat the deal in the same sequence until all 78 cards have been dealt out, giving the operator 6 cards for each House and an additional stack of 6 cards in the centre.
Each pile of six cards should be interpreted as they pertain to the aspects of life governed by the House into which they fall. Those falling in House 1 will therefore relate to the person and character of the querent, those at House 2 represent the financial affairs and so on. The central heap when read (after all the others have been dealt with) should represent further advice to the querent or sum up his/her circumstances or elucidate the nature of the problem. This will be evident from the cards themselves which will be seen to reinforce or expand upon another area of the reading.
A full interpretation of this type of layout will probably take at least an hour to complete, less than this and you could be missing some levels of meaning although, occasionally, a spread can produce an unclear or confusing result. If an interpretation seems muddled to you, ask the querent if they can make sense of the indications, if they cannot then the reading should be abandoned. A variety of influences can spoil a reading, from simply having a headache to weather conditions.
